A couple more pictures of Sofia getting ready to go outside and play in the snow. As I've said before, she loves it. She usually comes back inside covered from head to toe in snow.

Christmas Train
Every year the Christmas Train passes through North Dakota some time in December, but we had never seen it before. Since Sofia loves trains, we decided that we would try to catch it this year. On the evening that it was traveling from Hankinson to Enderlin, we decided we would head to McLeod since the tracks pass through there. It had started to snow before we left, so we packed some hot chocolate for the trip. We got to McLeod about an hour before the train was to arrive so we would have a good parking spot. As it turns out, that didn't matter since other people decided to park in front of us. :( Finally, it was time. We made our way to the tracks and watched as it got closer and closer. Sofia was so excited when they blew the whistle as they arrived. Lee and I thought it was just going to pass through McLeod, but it stopped so people could get on and ride to Enderlin. We didn't know you could ride, but we'll have to look into that for next year. The train was beautiful against the night sky and snow. Sofia kept calling it the Polar Express. Pretty soon, it was time for it to pull out and move on. Although the weather was crappy, seeing the train was totally worth it. We had one happy little girl. :)

Snow Fun
Here are some pics from earlier December after a significant snowfall. The trees are at my parents' place. The other pics are Sofia enjoying the snow. Just like every other kid, she loves playing in the snow. I wonder what age it is when we all finally grow out of our love for it?

Tangled
Rapunzel doesn't have a thing on Sofia. She wore her hair partly down one day, and I noticed how long it was getting. She usually wears her hair up in a ponytail, so seeing it down was a little bit of a shock. She has such pretty hair, but it needs to be trimmed. It's never been cut, it's pretty uneven in parts, and there are many broken hairs. However, Sofia pretty much has a breakdown when I mention getting her hair trimmed, so I keep putting it off. I don't want to take a lot off, just a couple of inches. But, she acts as if I'm going to have her shaved bald, so we'll wait...for now.

Making Her List and Checking it Twice
The toy catalogs for stores have been coming out recently, and Sofia has been all over them telling me what she needs for Christmas. Which, as it turns out, is one of everything. I don't think that will be happening, especially getting her Stinky the Garbage Truck, but she has given me some good ideas.
Scanning the catalog on the drive into town.
Decisions, decisions

Halloween 2010
Halloween seemed to come and go so fast this year. I think with my company's merger, I kind of put it on the back burner, then all of sudden it was here. It's a little disappointing to me because I love fall and Halloween, and I feel like I missed it this year. Oh well, at least I had it together enough to get Sofia a pumpkin and take her trick-or-treating. Although I really wanted her to dress as Jessie from Toy Story, she wanted to be a racecar driver. She looked really cute though. Her Uncle Jamie even gave her one of his stockcar racing trophies to carry around. She got enough candy to last for months and had a great time. Which is what Halloween is all about, right? :)
Once again we weren't allowed to carve, so this is Pete, the painted pumpkin.

New Wheels
Earlier this fall my cousin, Heidi, brought out Sofia a Barbie Jeep. She said her girls had outgrown it, and she thought Sofia would enjoy it. And, has she ever! Although it's gotten too cold to go cruising now, when it was warmer Sofia drove all over the yard with it. She loves it! Thanks again Heidi!!
