Making Her List and Checking it Twice

The toy catalogs for stores have been coming out recently, and Sofia has been all over them telling me what she needs for Christmas. Which, as it turns out, is one of everything. I don't think that will be happening, especially getting her Stinky the Garbage Truck, but she has given me some good ideas.

Scanning the catalog on the drive into town.

Decisions, decisions

Halloween 2010

Halloween seemed to come and go so fast this year. I think with my company's merger, I kind of put it on the back burner, then all of sudden it was here. It's a little disappointing to me because I love fall and Halloween, and I feel like I missed it this year. Oh well, at least I had it together enough to get Sofia a pumpkin and take her trick-or-treating. Although I really wanted her to dress as Jessie from Toy Story, she wanted to be a racecar driver. She looked really cute though. Her Uncle Jamie even gave her one of his stockcar racing trophies to carry around. She got enough candy to last for months and had a great time. Which is what Halloween is all about, right? :)

Once again we weren't allowed to carve, so this is Pete, the painted pumpkin.

New Wheels

Earlier this fall my cousin, Heidi, brought out Sofia a Barbie Jeep. She said her girls had outgrown it, and she thought Sofia would enjoy it. And, has she ever! Although it's gotten too cold to go cruising now, when it was warmer Sofia drove all over the yard with it. She loves it! Thanks again Heidi!!

Sofia's 1st Day of Preschool

On October 5th, Sofia started preschool. I still can't get over the fact that she's old enough for preschool. Where did the time go? And, although I think she's probably the youngest one in her class, she loves it. She constantly asks when it's time to go. There are 8 kiddos in her class, so I think Mrs. Enderson has her hands full. But, she's a wonderful teacher, and Sofia just loves her. It's been a great experience so far, and I know that Sofia is learning so much. And spending time with other kids will do her a world of good.

It didn't go so well. :)

A Side of Sofia

Just a pic to show Sofia's personality. She loves to put her toys "to bed". This time it was Thomas who had to say night-night.

Chris & Kelsey's Wedding

On October 2nd, Lee's brother Chris and his fiance Kelsey got married. Sofia was a flowergirl, and Lee was a groomsman. It was a beautiful day for a wedding. I love fall weddings! Aside from the usual flowergirl/ring bearer hijinks during the ceremony, it was a great day, and the wedding dance was a lot of fun too. And, Sofia was so cute in her flowergirl dress. She looked so grown up. All in all, a wonderful day with family celebrating two wonderful people. Congratulations again Chris and Kelsey!

Sofia's New Hat

This past weekend, my sister, Jessie, and her husband, Chris, had Sofia and Emma stay at her house. On Saturday they went to the Rheault Farm Fall Festival. Apparently, one of the craft projects they had the kiddos work on were these paper bag hats. Sofia is pretty proud of it, and I have to say it is quite stylish.

Labor Day Weekend

I've finally figured out an easier way to transfer pics from my desktop to laptop, so hopefully these posts will occur more frequently. Now just to find the spare time, eh? :)

Over Labor Day weekend we decided to take a mini-vacation, so we booked a room at the Holiday Inn in Fargo and headed up there that Friday night. We took advantage of their pool and Pirate Ship water park. Sofia really likes the water, but is scared of it too. So, it was mostly splashing in the kiddie pool for her, refusing to go down the slides, and hanging on me or Lee like a spider monkey when we were in the main pool. Looks like swimming lessons will be on the agenda next summer.

Saturday afternoon, we went to Thunder Mountain to ride the go-karts, which Sofia absolutely loved! She loves anything to do with racecars. While we were there the first time, we took advantage of the arcade games. After Sofia's nap at the motel, we went back for some mini-golf.

The next day, we swam some more before checking out. It was a great family weekend of swimming, eating, and enjoying each other's company. Hopefully we can do it again soon.

Emma's 3rd Birthday Party

On August 1st, my brother and his wife had a birthday party for Emma, who turned 3 at the end of July. Aside from the weather, which was hot and humid, the day was great. They had wonderful food, and Emma received a lot of awesome gifts, including a 4-wheeler from Katie's side of the family. She was one excited little girl and willing to give rides to anyone who wanted one. :) Happy 3rd Birthday Emma! We love you! Thanks again Katie and Jeremy!
