Trip to the Park

Here are some pics from our trip to the park today. It was such a beautiful day, I figured we should get out of the house for awhile.

Sofia's New Wheels

Last weekend the Shrine Circus was in Fargo. Now if you remember this post, she didn't really care for it, and neither did Lee and I. However, my sister, Jessie offered to take her this year, and Sofia was so excited to stay over night at Chris and Jessie's and go to the circus the next morning. As Lee and I were on our way up to Fargo to pick up Sofia, Jessie texted me that Sofia had won a bike! She loves this bike, even though it's still way too big for her. It doesn't matter to her, it's the best thing she owns. :) And, in a couple of years, she will actually be able to ride it. So thank you again Jessie and Chris for the trip to the circus! Here are some pics of Sofia with her new bike.

Oh She's Going to Hate Me...

because I posted these pictures. But, I just had to. I've said before that we've been working on potty-training, and it's going. That's about all. It's going. I'm waiting for that moment when she finally decides that she does not want to wear diapers anymore, but that hasn't happened yet. Anyhow, I took some pics last week of her in the bathroom, on the potty, creating some artwork. And, although I think they're pretty cute, when she gets older I don't think she's going to be too impressed.

Some More Sofia-isms

Me: Sofia, do you want to relax for a bit? Sofia: No, I gonna color. Me: Are you sure you don't want to relax? Sofia: Nope, I gonna color away.

Sofia is putting different pairs of shoes on. After the first pair, she looked at herself in the mirror and said, "I wook bootiful." After the second pair, she said, "I wook 'tastic." Oh Sofia. :)

She was in the living room watching tv, when she yells, "Daddy!!" I said, "Sofia, what do you need?" She says, "Nuffin. I said Daddy." Although I couldn't see her face, I imagine an eyeroll went along with that.

Sofia: Mommy, my tummy. It's broken. Me: Your tummy's broken? Sofia: Yup. Sure is.

Lee: Oops, I'm sorry. Sofia: That's okay. It's just my head.

While watching the Norad clip of Santa flying last year, Sofia says, "Go Santa Go! Ho Ho Ho!" She loves Santa "Cwause".

"Wake up Mommy! The sun is shining!" ~~ Sofia

Night 2 of Operation "No Paci" has been a success. There were some brief, but amiable, negotiations last night before bed. However, after being told again that paci had been "lost", the opponent, Sofia, conceded defeat with, "Oh Man! Ok Mommy," and went to bed without it. Victory is on the horizon. (When we decided to take away her pacifier).

Sofia is in the bathroom using the potty chair; we're in the living room. Sofia: Daddy! Lee: What? Sofia: Hi, it's me, Sofia. Could you come in here?

Lee handed Sofia a glass of milk tonight during supper. She responded with a, "Thanks pal!"

As I was bucking the drifts on the way into Milnor this morning, a little voice from the backseat said, "Mommy! You're getting cwazy!"

This morning when I dropped Sofia off at my parents, Lucille (my sister's dog) was there to greet Sofia. Sofia took off her jacket and said, "Come on Mucille, come on, wet's go to the wiving woom." I love the Elmer Fudd-speak.

"What a bootiful day, Mommy. What a bootiful day." ~~ Sofia (It's nice she can find beauty in a cloudy day like today.)

"Noooo, I can't go to jail! No way! I no wanna!" ~~ Sofia, after we told her that if she was naughty the police would take her jail. Funny to us, not so much to her.

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Perry the Pumpkin. He lived a full life, but when we found out his stem had broken off we knew we had to prepare for the worst. He was a loyal friend to Sofia, always there with a smile, ready to listen, and a great receiver of hugs. He now gets to go to the Great Pumpkin Patch in the sky. We'll miss you Perry! Fly on freebird! (Not a Sofia-ism, but relates to her personality of making a pumpkin her friend.)

"Mommy, I need sumfin to eat. My tummy's not full." ~~ Sofia just now while rubbing her tummy.

I forgot how much work went into building a snowman. But, if you ask Sofia, she did the work all by herself. Typical employee/manager relationship. I did all the work, she takes all the credit. :)

Sofia: Mommy, I wanna wear my new sandals. Me: You'll have to wait until we get to summer. Sofia: Oh. Well which road do we take to get there?
