Girls' Trip to the West - Part 1

Over a year ago, my sisters, Mom and I (and Sofia) decided to take a road trip west. Our main destination was my Aunt Barb's house in Oregon, but we made a few stops along the way. We left early (very early) morning on July 2. We drove all night across North Dakota, and into Montana. We made it to Kalispell that early evening. Since all of us were pretty tired, we went to bed fairly early and got up the next day to head to Glacier National Park. Many of the main passes into the park were still snowed in, so we took the Going-To-The-Sun Road into the park and headed to Saint Mary Lake. After buying our passes for the boat tour, we looked around and bought some souveniers. The boat tour was excellent even though it was a bit chilly. After the tour, we did a little exploring and hiking, taking a trail easy enough for a 4-year old. :) When our bus finally arrived to take us back to where the car was parked we were ready to be on way, moving further west. We stoppped first at Jessie's friend, Ty's place to say hello. On our way out of Kalispell, we drove by (through) one of the biggest lakes I had ever seen. It just seemed to go on and on. I wish I had gotten a picture, but we were losing daylight and had to drive yet through the mountains of Montana and Idaho. We did that in the dark, with Jessie doing the driving and me doing the panicking. I wouldn't recommend it. It was terrifying to this flatlander. We finally made it to Couer d' Alene, ID and stopped at a motel for the night. Here are some pics of Glacier National Park.
