Another Round of Sofia-isms

"What is making that terrible noise? It's just terrible." ~~ Sofia when she heard Jedd's car running earlier.

Driving to my parents' house last week, my Mom asked Sofia, "Do you see that squirrel running to the crick?" Sofia: "Yes. What's he doing?" Mom: "Probably going to find something to eat." Sofia: "He's probably going to chuck wood." Mom: "He is?" Sofia: "Yeah. He thinks he's a beaver." :)

Last night Sofia was playing with some old My Little Ponies, and Jessie asked her, "Sofia, what do call a flying horse?". Sofia responded with, "A miracle."

Sofia told me on the way home that the moon was moving (NOT the clouds), and that it was following us home. I tried to argue the point with scientific facts that state otherwise, but it turned out to be futile. She told me, "SHE Knows!". So eat that Galileo.

After giving Sofia a piece of toast this morning she said, "I don't like the crust", as she started picking it off. I said, "But, you like pizza crust don't you?". She replied, "Yes I do." Me: "Well what's the difference?". Sofia: "Toast crust is disgusting." ~~ She must really not like it because I found toast crust shoved into the car door ashtray yesterday.

At the football game while the crowd is yelling, "Go Defense", she yells, "Go Basement!!". I said, "Do you mean Go Defense?". She replies, "Oh, yeah. Go Defense!".

At Sammy's later on, my Dad tells her that the pizza part of pizza is way better than the crust. She replies, "No, I don't think that's right."

Sofia: Mommy! Don't slam those doors! (meaning car doors) Me: Why not? Sofia: Because. They're good doors.

"I've gotta go potty, then I'll finish my song. See you in a minute." ~~ Sofia

I have found out that Sofia thinks I have no idea what I'm talking about...ever. Every time I explained something to her this morning, I was answered with a, "Oh Mom. Silly Mommy." Basically it was a 3-year old telling me I'm a little slow, but she loves me anyway. Nice.

was told this morning by Sofia that pumpkins aren't for eating, they're for decoration and looking at. And jack 'o lanterns too, scary ones.

I told Sofia that I signed her up for preschool, and she was so excited. Then she got sad really sudden, so I asked her why. Her reply, "Because I'm sick. I don't want to get all my friends sick too." I reassured her that she had a month yet to recover. Still pretty sweet of her though.

Sofia: Mommy! See that white car over there? Me: I see it. Sofia: Yeah, I used to drive a white car.

Pics went great, but later on Sofia reprimanded me (yelled at me) for calling people stupid (people that cut me off). According to her, people don't like being called stupid, and it makes them mad. What a humanitarian.

Earlier today, Sofia told me my toast popping skills were "amazing!", then she walked outside and greeted my cat with a "Good morning, Murray!". Yep, she does make me smile.

Before we left my parents' tonight, I told Sofia that it was really hot outside. As we're walking out the door, the heat hits Sofia, and she says, "Oh! The sun is killing me!"

"Okay, Mommy, pwess the "A" button. There you go. Now, let it go. There you go. Now you'll hit some pins. Okay, Mommy, try again." ~~ Sofia, teaching me the fine art of Wii bowling.

More Sofia-isms

I know I have some catching up to do since I'm way behind. But, I'm not able to upload pics very easily, so once I figure it out, I'll update with posts and pics. Until then I leave you with more words by Sofia. :)

Me: Sofia, roll over so I can lay down. Sofia: No Mommy, I no roll over. I scootch over.

Sofia: Mommy, it's wong. Me: What's wrong? Sofia: It's all wong. ~~ Hmmm, deva ju maybe? I think I recall Sofia's aunt saying these exact words when she was 4, circa Christmas 1982.

After making me soup, toast and memonade in her Minnie Mouse kitchen, Sofia instructed me to "eat all your soup and toast." After saying that she grabbed the plastic piece of toast, pointed it at my mouth and said, "Here comes the choo-choo train."

Old McDonald had a farm, and on his farm he had a duck. With a Donald quack-quack here, and a Donald quack-quack there, Old McDonald had a farm.

Sofia (while scrunching her nose): "Mommy, it smells like poop outside." Me: "I don't know, I just think it smells kinda lakey." Sofia: "No, it smells like poop." Me: "Ok you're right, I really don't want to argue about poop this morning."

Sofia: "Mommy, I need a bowl on my head." Me: "A bowl? Why do you need a bowl on your head?" Sofia: "Because it's Happy Birthday time." Me: "What does a bowl on your head have to do with...oh do you mean bow?" Sofia: "Yes. A bowl. On my head."

Sofia: Mommy, what shoes are these? Me: They're the same shoes you've been wearing all week. You're goofy. Sofia: No I'm not. Goofy is on the tv.

Sofia: Mommy, it's raining again. Me: No, it's not raining right now. Sofia: Oh. But it will soon though Mommy.

Sofia: Yay!! Me: What? Sofia: It's a sunny day tonight!!

My daughter pointed out to me, earlier this morning, a pimple on her chin. And, she actually said the word "pimple". Not even 3, and she's already developing teenage acne. Perfect.

At Walmart today, Sofia told me she needed me to buy her some cookies, then emphasizing her point by saying, "I love them! They're dewicious!"

As I put Sofia to bed tonight I said to her, "Three years old. Where did the time go?" She said, "I don't know. But there's the clock."
