A Couple More Pictures

Just a few more pictures, then I need to go to bed.

I'll show you how to mow, Daddy

See, just like this

So tired

And, with the theme of that last picture, good night.

Happy 99th Birthday Grandma!

On May 18, there was a birthday party/family reunion for my Grandma Bixby's 99th birthday. 99 years. Holy cow! I can only hope to make it that long. She does really well, though. She might not be as spry as she used to be, but she still has attitude. :) A lot of family and friends turned out, the food was plentiful and delicious, and it was a beautiful day. Happy birthday Grandma!

A note about the above picture: They look like a somber bunch, don't they? Trust me, they aren't. Must have just caught them at a serious moment.

Out to Stefanie and Dana's

Sofia turned 11 months old on May 17. Although I didn't weigh and measure her on that day, she now weighs 23 pounds and is around 29 inches long. Like last time, she moved around a lot when we tried to measure her, so I don't know how accurate that is. I said she was 29 inches at 10 months, so who knows. We'll find out officially when we have her 12 month appointment in a few weeks. It feels so weird to say that she'll be 1 year old in less than 2 weeks. I just can't believe it. Anyhow, that day we ran to Wahpeton for some stuff, then later on went over to Dana and Stefanie's. Lee planted their sweet corn with his tractor and tilled their garden. While he and Dana worked on that, Stefanie, Sofia, and I were inside. All the pictures in the post and the next are ones she took. She got some really good ones. They continue into the next post below.

An Evening with Jolene

On May 9th, my friend Jolene was home with her kiddos and invited me and Sofia out to her parents' for the evening. I went solo, because my sister, Jeanie, graduated that day from NDSU, and my parents had Sofia with them for the ceremony. Congratulations, again, Jeanie! I got to see and hold baby Brock again. He's gotten so big; it still amazes me how fast babies grow. And, Lydia and Sadie are just too cute. Lynette was also home, and Paul, Kate, and Bobby were there too. I had such a good time. I can't wait until Sofia can run and play with all of them.

Drew's Birthday Party

On May 4, we were invited to my nephew Drew's 8th birthday party at Randy and Cheri Pearson's. I cannot believe he's already 8! Drew got a lot of things, a lot of clothes (what every 8-year old boy wants :D). It was fun, and I especially enjoyed watching the guys play Wii. It was pretty cool. Drew was really into it; he didn't even stop playing to eat. I don't blame him, it would have been tough for me to quit playing too. Sofia got to crawl around on the carpet, and she was on the go most of the time. Needless to say, she was pretty pooped afterwards.

Happy 8th Birthday Drew!

We're Still Here

Although our blog hasn't been updated for some time, we are still here. It's been more laziness than anything else as to why I haven't done anything. I've got a few posts to write, so they'll go from bottom up, but I thought I would start with a couple of pictures of Lee and Sofia enjoying a sunny day in early May.
