A Few More Sofia-isms

*Me: Sofia, do you want to relax for a bit? Sofia: No, I gonna color. Me: Are you sure you don't want to relax? Sofia: Nope, I gonna color away.

*Sofia is putting different pairs of shoes on. After the first pair, she looked at herself in the mirror and said, "I wook bootiful." After the second pair, she said, "I wook 'tastic." Oh Sofia. :)

*She was in the living room watching tv, when she yells, "Daddy!!" I said, "Sofia, what do you need?" She says, "Nuffin. I said Daddy." Although I couldn't see her face, I imagine an eyeroll went along with that.

Just some pics of her being goofy

Sofia-isms

Some things that Sofia has said or done lately. I usually use them as my Facebook statuses so I'm just going to copy them to here. She cracks me up. :)

*Sofia (looking at a picture of herself at 2 mos. old): Who that Mommy? Me: That's you as a baby. Sofia: Ohhhh, cute! Then she gave the pic a kiss.

*Now Sofia is taking the picture I mentioned earlier for a ride on her scooter around the house saying, "C'mon baby, c'mon. Let's go. You're home."

*Me (after taking off Sofia's shoes and socks): Pew Sofia, your feet stink! (just kidding her) Sofia: Mell, mell, Mommy! (while putting her foot in my face) Me: Ew, yuck! No way! I'm not smelling your feet. Sofia: Pease, Mommy! Mell, mell.

This next one was at the beginning of October and all we had were gray, rainy days for weeks:

*Yesterday Sofia asked, "Mommy, where the sun?" I said, "It's hiding behind the clouds today." She replied, "I wanna see sun!". Me too, pumpkin. Me too.

*The other night something upset Sofia, so she started crying her fake cry. I said, "Sofia, don't worry. It'll be ok." To which she replied, "No Mommy! I crying!" Well I guess it's your party...

*
I had just gotten done with Sofia's hair. I said, "Okay, let me see." She turned to me and said, "I'm perfect." Hmmm, I may have to teach her the art of humility.

*
Last night Sofia patted my cheek and said, "Aww, Mommy, I wuv you too." Then she gave me a big hug. She's right, she is perfect. :)

*
Another Sofia-ism: We were stopped at the intersection by Don's Car Wash on 13th. Sofia: Hmmm, that's weird. Me: What's weird? Sofia: Don's Car Wash. Me: Do you remember being there with Grandpa and Grandma? Sofia: Yup. ~~ I don't know why she thought it was weird, but I do think it's funny she remembered it being "Don's" car wash, not just a car wash.

*
On Saturday after trick-or-treating Sofia said, "Mommy, I go to sleep." A little bit in shock, I asked, "You want to go to sleep?!?" She said, "Yeah, I tired." She must have been exhausted because she hates going to sleep.

*
Perry, the pumpkin, is still with us. Sofia carries him around like a baby, telling him how cute he is, patting him on the back, and giving him hugs. I think she may get her eccentricities from her mother.

*
The other night Sofia was squatting on the dining room floor and holding a splatter guard close to her face, like she was trying to see the floor through it. I asked her what she was doing. She replied, "Looking for footprints." My own little CSI.

*
Last night while we were eating supper, Sofia came over and crushed a cracker into my soup (which I never do). Then she said, "You're welcome Mommy." While I just looked at her, wondering why she had done that, she said, "Mommy. You're welcome." When I finally thanked her, she smiled at me like she'd done me the greatest favor in the world, then walked away.

I'm sure there will be more along the way. People kept telling me to write them down; I figured this was the next best thing. I'll record them as I hear them. :)

Go Vikings!!

On Sunday I let Sofia wear her Vikings jersey for the football game. Normally I shy away from dressing her or myself in Vikings gear on gameday since I'm superstitious. But the Vikes were playing the Lions that day, so I felt pretty safe in letting her wear her jersey. She was pretty excited and kept saying, "Purple Football!". Love it!

The good cheer didn't last long. The Vikings won, but not long after the game ended, Sofia ended up getting sick and throwing up. After getting her cleaned up, I took her temperature which was 100 degrees. Sofia rarely gets sick, so I wasn't prepared with any Tylenol. My mom came to the rescue, though, by bringing some out. Sofia didn't want to drink it, so it took some persuasion to get it in her. After that she just laid on our bed watching cartoons. Not like my little girl at all. The Tylenol worked pretty quickly and she was up and around again, but not moving as fast as she usually does.

Although she still had a slight fever and was still not herself yesterday, this morning was a different story. Dancing and talking all morning until we got to my mom's. The old Sofia is back, and I'm glad to see her. As much as I love cuddling with her, she only does it when she isn't feeling well. So, if she's on the move, all is right with the world again. :)

Halloween 2009

It was Halloween this past weekend. And, we finally had a beautiful weekend. The weather here has been horrible the past month. Raining every other day, cold, just plain yucky. But, Mother Nature decided to celebrate the holiday also and give us a bit of a break. This year Sofia dressed as Minnie Mouse. I picked out her costume again, and I think she looked pretty darn cute. But, I am biased. :) We did go a few places for trick-or-treating. And, for those few places, she received a TON of candy. She had a lot of fun saying "Trick-or-treat!" and "Halloween!". Every year it's more fun!

As far as Sofia goes, her canines are finally through! It's funny now to see her with those spaces filling in. My mom is still working on potty training with her. Not a whole lot of progress yet, but she tries. Although potty training terrifies me, I know I need to step up and help too. That's an understatement, huh? Although I'm tired of buying diapers, she'll get it in her own time. Also, next month, she'll be 2 1/2. Where does the time go? Her vocabulary is massive, and I don't think I'm bragging when I say that either. She speaks in full sentences, talks pretty clearly (most of the time), and is always asking questions. She loves cartoons, puzzles, coloring, and pretty much anything else a 2-year old loves. Every day brings something new, and she keeps us on our toes. I think she likes it that way. :)

Here's the pics from Halloween:

So excited for Halloween!

Karen & Ron's Wedding

Well, I finally decided to sit and take the time to update with some pictures. As I mentioned in my previous post, Lee's mom Karen and her long-time boyfriend, Ron got married September 26. We took a trip out to Mandan for the festivities. It was a great time! The reception and dance were a blast. And, we stayed at a motel with a waterpark, so Sofia got some swim time in. The only downside to the whole weekend was losing Sofia's sandals (which were actually Jolene's). :( I, for the life of me, cannot figure out where they went to. Maybe they'll show up some day.

Anyhow...Congratulations again Karen and Ron!!
