4-Month Well-Baby Checkup

Yesterday, Sofia and I went to Fargo for her 4-month checkup and immunizations. As usual, I was so impressed with how she handles going to the doctor. She does so much better than I would. She now weighs 15 lb. 3 oz. and is 24 inches long! The doctor said she's thriving. While the doctor looked her over, Sofia was just talking away, telling the doctor her stories. It was pretty cute. Then, the nurse came in to do the immunizations. First, I got a flu shot. (I took one for Team Hanna, too.) Then, it was Sofia's turn. Before it happened, Sofia was smiling, laughing, and talking. Then, the nurse gave her the first one. Sofia gave this stunned look of, "Why did you just do that?" and started crying. I felt so bad, but I think the nurse felt worse. After it was done, I picked her up, and she was fine. But, she would have nothing to do with that nurse anymore. The nurse tried to talk to her, but Sofia just turned away from her. It was kind of funny, but I guess I don't blame her. All in all, everything went smoothly.

Earlier in the day, we stopped at Sears and had some more pictures taken. I know I've gone crazy with photos, but I can't help myself. Anyhow, click here to view them. I think they turned out so well, but I'm pretty biased.

This weekend, we're having Sofia baptized. So, hopefully I can get pictures of that posted fairly soon afterwards. We'll see.

Getting ready to hit the road

I can't wait to get going!

Our Trip to Mandan

Last weekend, Lee, Sofia, and I took a trip to Mandan for Lee's mom's retirement party. It was our first overnight trip since we left the hospital. I was a little worried about how Sofia would be away from home, but my fears were unfounded. She did beautifully! She slept through the night both nights and was such a happy girl the whole time. We had a good time and now can't wait to do more traveling. A few pics from the party although I don't have one of Lee's mom, Karen...and, it was her party. :( Typical me. Sometimes I'm not very good with the camera and capturing the moment.

17 Weeks Old

Not much new to report on, I guess. But, thought I should post some new pictures. Sofia is 17 weeks old today, and she's growing up so fast. I know I say that every time, but it's so true. She's "talking" more now, laughing and giggling, and squealing has become her new thing. She loves to hear herself make noise. She can't quite sit up on her own just yet, but is almost there. Her Bumbo will really help her with that, I think. Last weekend, Sofia, Mom, and I went out to Lunneborg's and spent the afternoon with Marilyn, Susan, and Stefanie. From there, Lee, Sofia, and I traveled to Mund's to spend the evening with Paul, Kate, and Robert, Jolene, Lydia, and Sadie, Cindy and Drew, and Stefanie. We celebrated Stefanie's 30th birthday. It was fun to have all the babies together. We also realized that we celebrate birthdays a little different than we used to. We had just as much fun, though. Well, Sofia just woke from her nap, so better get going. Here are some new pictures.

Such a happy girl!

Taking a little snooze before a big day.

Hey...whatcha got there?

Just relaxing in the Bumbo seat.

Some More Pics

Just thought I'd post a few more pics of Sofia. Tonight I was laughing at something she did, then she started laughing, which made me laugh even harder. She's so funny. I'm just amazed by the new things she does every day. She's started doing buh-buh-buh and mmm-mmm in her conversation, along with a lot of blowing bubbles and drool. :) I have to say that my favorite thing though is when she wakes from a nap. I go in to pick her up, and when she sees me, she smiles this huge smile. I just love it. She's such a happy baby. Lee and I couldn't be more lucky.

Hey, Mom's up to something...

Hi Mom!

I took this one myself. Can you tell?

Just a minute, I'm watching something.

Okay, now what did you need?
