8 Months Old

Sofia turned 8 months old on Sunday. She now weighs 20.5 pounds and is 27 inches long. So it seems that her putting on weight has kind of tapered off, and she's beginning to grow length-wise. I'm going to keep this short, because she's sitting on my lap right now and doesn't have the patience to let me write more about her. :) So, I'll just post some pics, and we'll go play some more.

I think I can get it.

Hey there Mom!

Yes, I pushed myself back this far.

I like sitting up much better.

That's so funny!

Covergirl!

Something neat happened for Sofia this past Sunday. She made the cover of the Fargo Forum's special baby issue. We were so excited! The baby issue was done to commemorate the babies born in 2007. Anyone who has a baby that was born in 2007 was invited to send in a picture of their baby (with a nominal fee, of course), then they put it all together and send out the issue in a designated Sunday Forum. They called me a couple of weeks ago and asked if it would be okay if Sofia's picture was on the cover. I agreed, so now she's our own little cover girl. Pretty cool!

On a side note, just today I noticed that she's starting to push up to a bit of a crawling position when she's on her tummy. Maybe she will crawl after all. And, she's learned to spit or "blow raspberries". She loves doing it, so the spit's been flying lately. :) I guess that although it's messy, it's learning none-the-less. So, as far as I'm concerned, let 'er fly.

Here she is, our little "Covergirl"

2nd Flu Shot

The next day, I took Sofia to Fargo to receive her second flu shot. All in all, the appointment took about 2 minutes. Sofia did wonderfully (as usual). She cried for about 5 seconds, then was done. For such a short appointment, I can't believe what a hassle it was just to get in and out. It was freezing that day, which always makes things more difficult. Traffic wasn't fun, had to wait for a train, then I left one of Sofia's bottles in the waiting room. Ugh! I was exhausted when we finally got home. Our next well-baby check should go much smoother. It will be at the end of March, so weather should be nicer and NO shots next time. YEAH! Sofia and I will both like that. As for my little girl, she isn't crawling yet. I've said before how she hates to be on her belly. That hasn't changed. She's rolling over more now. And, somehow this morning she had turned herself in a complete 180 in her bed. I wish I'd taken a picture. So, she is moving on her own. She can maneuver herself in different ways, so whatever her preference is fine by me. We have hardwood floors in our house, and it's cold down there. So, when I read about how you help your child by placing them on the floor, then letting them work it out, it really isn't an option out here. It's cold down there, and blankets only go so far. So, any advice, I'll take it. Anyhow, she can do "So Big", is learning to wave bye-bye, is babbling away, and loves to bang her blocks together. Something new every day, which is wonderful. It's so cool to see things through her eyes. It's a whole new perspective. Well, I think I'll just post my pictures now and head off to bed. Good-night.

Hey Mom, watch this.

Sooo Big!

Well, did you get it?

Here, you need a hug.

Uff-da.

Out Visiting

Whoa, I just looked to see when I last posted. It was quite a while ago. I need to keep more up to speed with this. It just seems that when I have a free day or whatever, something else is comes up. All right, enough with my whining and on to something much better. Last Tuesday night, my friend Jolene invited Sofia and I out to her parents' house for supper. She had her two daughters, Lydia and Sadie, along. Her mom, Melinda, was home also, and Kate and Bobby joined us too. It was a fun evening. Not only did she make a fantastic meal, but we got to catch up a little bit, play with the kiddos, and just relax. We hadn't seen them since October, I think, so it was great to get together. Here are some pictures from that evening.

Don't worry Bobby, it's okay.

I'm here for my close-up.
