6 Month Checkup

On Wednesday, we headed back up to Fargo to have Sofia's 6-month checkup. She now weighs 19 pounds and is 25 inches long. The doctor said she's doing great and is acting exactly how a 6-month old should act. Sofia even rolled over for the first time during her checkup! I haven't been able to get her to do it again, but all in due time I suppose. Then it was time for the shots. :( Neither Sofia, nor I enjoyed that part. She recovered quickly, and we were on our way. It was also my mom's 60th birthday on Wednesday. Happy Birthday Mom/Grandma! We went out for supper with my family that night, so that was really nice. Also, that morning, I had Sofia's 6-month pictures taken. She did wonderfully! Click here to view them. Here are some new photos too.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! I know I'm a few days late with this, but you know how the holidays are. Yesterday, all I wanted to do was sleep. So, that's what Sofia and I did. But, with renewed energy, I thought I should post our pictures from Christmas. And, we had a great Christmas. Christmas morning, Sofia woke up to find that Santa Claus had been here during the night. She opened up her gift from him, then opened some from Daddy and Mommy. After a nap and a bath (for her :) ), we headed out to Grandpa Rick (Lee's dad) and Rose's. Sofia hadn't seen them for awhile, so it was nice to get together again. Most of Lee's side was there. We opened gifts and had some dinner. After awhile, and because Sofia needed a nap, we headed into town to my parents'. We ate, again, and opened more gifts. All of my family was there, including my Grandma Bixby (who is 98) and my aunt Loretta. It was a lot of fun. Thank you everyone for everything! I love Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve!

We spent Christmas Eve with some of Lee's family. Actually, the Sunday before Christmas, his mom, Karen, and Ron stopped in to deliver presents. It wasn't the greatest day for travel, but they made it with gifts in tow. Thanks again! Then, Christmas Eve, we had supper here. Some of Lee's family and Argil were able to have supper with us. Lee took the kids out and pulled them on a sled behind Arg's 4-wheeler, and we opened some gifts later in the evening. Sofia received so many nice things! And, thanks to Argil buying her a toy chest, we now have some place to put them. :) It was a nice evening and a lot of fun.

We finally got around to putting Sofia's walker together. It's a bit fancier than the ones I'm used to. She does enjoy sitting and playing with the toys on top. Pretty soon she may even be able to touch the ground with her feet. :)

Happy 6-Month Birthday Sofia!

Sofia is 6 months old today! I remember when she was born, thinking that 6 months seemed so far away. It passed by in the blink of an eye. Wow! It's been so much fun. It's also been the hardest work I've ever done, but it's been so rewarding and totally worth it. She brightens our day every day. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. And, in a few days, she gets to celebrate her first Christmas. I may be a bit more excited about that then she is. :) I can't wait.

I am happy to say that my aunt Barb made it safely back home to celebrate Christmas with her family. And, my brother Jeff, Angie, Zac, and Evelyn arrived Sunday morning. We're so happy to have them home! I love having my whole family around.

Well, I suppose I should go to bed. But, thought I would update on Sofia's 1/2 birthday with some photos and videos.

First Cereal

We had another new experience this weekend. Sofia tried cereal for the first time on Saturday. Let's just say that more ended up on her face than in her mouth, which you can see in the pictures. But, I think she liked it. She just didn't know what it was. We haven't tried it again, but we may give it another shot on Wednesday. Also, the Cenex Christmas party was Saturday night. The food was great, and we had a good time. On Sunday, there was a party for my aunt Fronie and uncle Tony's 60th wedding anniversary. Congratulations to them! So, overall, it was a pretty fun weekend, even if it was horribly cold.

Hmm, I don't know what to think of this stuff.

Here mom, let me help you out.

Yum! It's not too bad.

Is it all gone?

Even with food all over my face, I'm still darn cute!

Let It Snow

Sorry that it's been a while since updating last. We've been busy, but it doesn't seem like we've really gotten anything accomplished. So it goes... Last week I had Sofia to Sears once again to have more pictures taken. Yes, more pictures. I am so glad she goes along with it. They turned out great. Click here to take a look. And, Santa Claus got to meet his newest good little girl. Sofia had her picture taken and told him what she wanted for Christmas. She did wonderfully! The big guy didn't scare her one bit. And, Santa even commented on how smiley she is! We've been to Fargo a couple of times and visited Lee's Grandma Marcy on Saturday for the Vet's Home Christmas Party. But, I am proud to say we finally purchased a new Christmas Tree. It was time to retire my old "Charlie Brown" tree. One problem though...the new one is so big, we really don't have room for it. I guess we'll figure out something. I know this is a bit of a rambling update, so I apologize. And, I don't have any new pictures to post. :( I promise new and better things next time!

Almost There!

Thought I would post these pictures of Sofia I took this evening. She was doing some tummy time and is sooo close to rolling over. She was just about there...then she wasn't. I think she gets a little frustrated, but pretty soon she'll get it. Then there will be no stopping her. Also, I weighed and measured her yesterday. She now weighs about 16 pounds and is about 24 1/2 inches long.

All right, let's give this a try.

Here we go!

Okay, I'm up. Now what?

Just about there!

Oof! Well, I give up. Maybe tomorrow.

Video of Sofia

I thought I would try posting a video just to see if I could do it. Hopefully it works.

Video of Sofia from last night

5 Months Old

I just can't believe it. My little girl is 5 months old today! The time has really flown by. Sofia is getting bigger every day and surprising me with something new she does all the time. Her new favorite "toys" are her feet and toes. She started really grabbing at them about a week ago. It's so cute. She hasn't rolled over yet, but is pretty close. She gets way up on her arms, but so far that's about it. All in due time. Other new things in the Hanna family: Lee got his deer last weekend. And, Sofia had her first snow today. It was just a dusting, but it was there...until it melted about an hour later. Not quite enough to make a snowman with. :) I'm sure we can expect more in the near future, though. Next week it's Thanksgiving, so I'm sure we'll all try to eat ourselves into a turkey and pie-induced coma. I know I'm looking forward to it.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! Okay, I know I'm a day late, but we had so much fun trick-or-treating last night that I didn't get a chance to update. We had a great Halloween. I carved a couple of pumpkins in the afternoon...which was a lot tougher than I remember. Then, in the evening, I put Sofia in her costume, and we went to town for a little trick-or-treating. I think she just may be the cutest penguin ever. We first stopped at Grandma Jan's and Grandpa Jerry's. Then, we went to visit the Hegle's. Brooklyn and Lily were still there, so we got to see them in their costumes. They were a cute couple of witches. Next, we stopped in at my Grandma Bixby's and Aunt Barb's. After that, we headed back to my mom and dad's. Drew (Superman) and Mason (Power Ranger) stopped by. Later, Jeremy and Katie brought Emma over. She was dressed as a cute, little cow. Sofia did quite well for her first Halloween. Lee and I may have to help her out with her candy, though. It's a tough job... Anyhow, I had a blast, and I think Sofia had fun too. I just love Halloween!

Sofia's Baptism

On Sunday, we had Sofia's baptism. Pastor Harvey Henderson presided. Sofia's sponsors were my sister Jessie and our friend Argil. Sofia did really well. She was sleeping through most of the ceremony, but woke up when the water was poured over her head. She didn't cry though. Afterwards, the pastor took her around to share peace with the congregation. She did beautifully through the whole thing. Afterwards, we went up to the center for lunch. It was a cool, but beautiful day.

4-Month Well-Baby Checkup

Yesterday, Sofia and I went to Fargo for her 4-month checkup and immunizations. As usual, I was so impressed with how she handles going to the doctor. She does so much better than I would. She now weighs 15 lb. 3 oz. and is 24 inches long! The doctor said she's thriving. While the doctor looked her over, Sofia was just talking away, telling the doctor her stories. It was pretty cute. Then, the nurse came in to do the immunizations. First, I got a flu shot. (I took one for Team Hanna, too.) Then, it was Sofia's turn. Before it happened, Sofia was smiling, laughing, and talking. Then, the nurse gave her the first one. Sofia gave this stunned look of, "Why did you just do that?" and started crying. I felt so bad, but I think the nurse felt worse. After it was done, I picked her up, and she was fine. But, she would have nothing to do with that nurse anymore. The nurse tried to talk to her, but Sofia just turned away from her. It was kind of funny, but I guess I don't blame her. All in all, everything went smoothly.

Earlier in the day, we stopped at Sears and had some more pictures taken. I know I've gone crazy with photos, but I can't help myself. Anyhow, click here to view them. I think they turned out so well, but I'm pretty biased.

This weekend, we're having Sofia baptized. So, hopefully I can get pictures of that posted fairly soon afterwards. We'll see.

Getting ready to hit the road

I can't wait to get going!
